A Family Adventure at Our Raheny Cattery: Daisy and Buddy’s Arrival
Over the Christmas break we welcomed our first two guests to our cattery, Daisy and Buddy, a beautiful pair of pure black cats brimming with personality. It was a day full of excitement and enthusiasm for my young son and daughter.
As we stepped into our Raheny cattery, the kids were bubbling with anticipation, thrilled to lend a hand in caring for our new friends. Daisy and Buddy, were lounging in the nest, watching our every move with curious eyes.
With brushes in one hand and bowls of food in the other, my children eagerly volunteered to help. Their enthusiasm was endearing but needed a bit of hushing as their voices rose in excitement, threatening to startle Daisy, who seemed a bit shy at first. “Daisy’s a bit timid, let’s be gentle and quiet,” I said, trying to calm down the kids excitement. Buddy, on the other hand, embraced their attention, allowing the kids to brush him and nudging the kids for more petting.

It was heartwarming to watch my little ones immerse themselves in the joy of caring for these two cats. Their giggles echoed in the cattery as they fed and brushed Daisy and Buddy, filling the space with laughter and warmth.
The children’s excitement was contagious, and as Daisy gradually came out of her shell, their faces lit up with delight. “Look, Daisy’s coming closer!” my daughter exclaimed in a hushed voice, barely containing her excitement.
Buddy, with his playful antics, had my son giggling nonstop. “Can we take Buddy into the house?” he asked with wide-eyed innocence. It was a delightful sight, witnessing Daisy’s growing confidence and Buddy’s joyful interactions with the children.

When it was time to go, my little ones reluctantly said their goodbyes, with my daughter wanting to stay with them longer and promising to return soon. Leaving the cattery, they chatted about their experience, their laughter still lingering in the air.
This day was a testament to the essence of our cattery—a place where families connect with our furry guests, where laughter and genuine moments of joy thrive.
